Murder Scenes

In our trailer we have a murder scene were a character is pushed downstairs, i think this scene depicted the attack very well, whilst analysing the scene, once the character was pushed, 7 shots were used to create the illusion of the character falling. A long shot was used to show the whole characters body being pushed, the next was a close up on the characters shoes to show him falling, the next shot was a medium shot of the character rolling downstairs, then the next shot to commence was a change of angle from the stairs perspective, then the final shot was the characters head smashing against the floor to show he had finished falling. A use of shots to create the illusion is very important, and we shall be recreating this scene.

This is an alternative scene we could use for our trailer, when the character is falling down the stairs it is a much quicker attack, here the director has only used 3 primary shots for this scene, the first is a medium shot shown from the attackers point of view as the character is seen in front of the stairs ready to be pushed, a second medium shot is used which shows the attacker pushing the character down the stairs with one hand, the next shot is a closer up showing the character falling down the stairs at one angle, then the next is one of her falling at an angle complimenting her landing, because the camera was able to capture that moment from in front of her. Because are murder scene will be shot in a house this could be a more appropriate scene to mimic as the stair case is shorter, and is not as long as the scene above. Plus it is a lot more simple and less shots are used to create the illusion.
